Emzii: It's for Everyone

Every now and then, a project appears out of the blue and changes the way you see things forever. This was one of those.

I had the privilege of being entrusted with telling Emzii’s story.

A transgender esports champion, streamer, and advocate. A trailblazer who spends as much time fighting for the right to exist as she does winning medals.

What makes her remarkable isn’t just her success, but her courage to protect others and the gaming spaces that give so many people refuge from the same hate.

Truthfully, this mini-documentary almost never happened. After countless refusals from other storytellers, Emzii’s last chance landed with me and a small group of trusted collaborators.

Seven weeks later, from first hello to delivery, Emzii: It’s For Everyone premiered at BAFTA and went on to win the ESI London Film Festival.
